Me and a few other wives threw our hubbies a deployment party. A great time was had by all! We have 2 weeks to go now. The kids ard I are very anxious and we dont really let Kris out of our sight very much when he is home. No one other than a military wife knows how this feels……. I wont say anything more cause the very thought of any of it brings me to tears. Enjoy the photos!
We’re off! We arrived in the airport in Charlotte for a 2 hour lay-over. So we went and had dinner at a Mexican Rest and they had the best nachose ever! We got to our gate with the words cancelled on it! WHAT! Well needless to say we were delayed in the Charlotte Airport for 8 + hours…… NOT FUN! When we got on the flight out to Vegas there were these Iraqi men on the flight with us. All 6 of them were from young to old and skinny to fat. Guess where they sat? Right in front of us! The fat one had a witch sitting behind him that was antagonizing him the whole trip with his seat. He was a BIG man and could not help that his seat naturally leaned back. He had had enough and stood up like the last hour of the flight and just stared at her. I was so uncomfortable and so was Kris….. We were whispering back and forth and laughing. I even zipped up my jacket cause the way they were staring at everyone made me very uncomfortable. Yes they all congragated and stood up. I was like, “Kris do you think they are going to take this plane down”? He was on his toes that is for sure. We both were very happy to get off that bird.
Our first night in Vegas did not happen cause of that flight being late. We arrived at the Luxor in our rental car and after walking a mile to the front desk they had the nerve to piss Kris off and tell him we could not check in till 11am and it was now only 6:30am Vegas time. We couldnt do anything about it cause we were stuck in an airport with no internet hook-ups (they had been turned off) I was NOT ammused at all….. I said manager NOW! We were happily booked into our room where we slept till like 5pm. We went to the New York, New York Hotel that night and putzed around listening to music and sitting in the “Make believe streets of NY” people watching. We did go to the Coyote Ugly Bar and stayed for a few hours talking and just hanging out. It’s one of Emily’s favorite movies Coyote Ugly so she was amazed that we were in one. So I got her a shirt from there! Day #2…. we explored Vegas in the day time and went to the Playboy Bunny Club and The Moon that night. All I have to say is, very classy and very nice. The bunny girls were adorable and not vulgar in any way. There was no Nakedness any where. We spent a few hours in there and just talked and hung out. Day #3….. We drove to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. It was my favorite part of the trip. Driving thru the desert is beautiful. God is truely amazing with everything he created and I stood in total amazement at the Grand Canyon. We got to see the sunset go down and it was beautiful. Day #4… we slept in cause we were pooped and it was check out time! We checked out put our suitcases in the rental car and parked and walked the streets. We shopped and got souveniers for the kids. I tool lots of photos. The building architecture was amazing to me. We ate lunch at Dicks Last Resort…. the place where they are rude to you and throw your stuff at you. It was great and I loved it! We saw the Nascar parade of all the semi’s rolling into town. That was a neat thing to watch! I’m not a nascar fan but I was there any ways! After that we went to the airport and turned in the rental car. The planes were on time this go around! We got home at 9am the next morning…..
