Spring Break this year was calm and quiet. It was really cold the first part of the week. It was in the 30’s in the AM hours and by the afternoon in the high 50’s low 60’s. By Friday it had warmed up to being in the 80’s and we took the kids to the beach for the day on Saturday. They had a blast. It was really windy and Kris got crispy fried. He looked as though someone took a red can of spray paint and painted him in splotches. Bless his heart he was hurting……
We tried a new church on Suday. The First Baptist Church. The folks were lovely and so kind and the kids loved there class. But Kris and I….. NOT SO MUCH! Growing up in a Pentecostal church I am used to the livelyness and I just wont compromise and go back to hymnals. Sorry…… Kris was acting up all during the sermon as if he were the character in the movie Hitch with Will Smith. He was acting like he was breaking out in hives and making all sorts of noises. We will try another one this Sunday. It looks like a lively church and they have a large kids program so that does excite me! It is baptist as well and I’m okay with that. I just really need to feel God where I go and be able to worship freely and they need to have a kids program that we all agree on. GOD HELP!
We watched the Passion of Christ with the kids Sunday night and went thru each scene with them explaining it to them. I was moved and touched to see how broken my kids were. Hopefully it will leave a mark on them forever and they will take it with them and know what the cross truly represents. I end with saying what did Easter really stir in you this year? For me it made me re-dedicate my vow when I gave my kids back to the Lord in dedication to raise them and train them in the way of the Bible and teach them that we need to do HIS work and not the work of the world…………… Lets be caught doing good things for people when God comes back and not with our pants down!
ps: Check out the Easter 2006 Picts I uploaded!
Life at the home of the Mocks is crazy again!!!! Kris is whipping these monsters of ours back into shape. They need it though cause I have a hard time telling any of them no…. Go figure! They all have calendars up, they all have chores now, they will get an allowance when Kris gets paid twice a month. They will learn to pay 10% for tithes, save 10% to a savings acct, take 10% out for taxes (which will go into a fun jar for family stuff). This is real life so the sooner they learn they will appreciate earning the money and the value of a dollar. We are teaching them to save for things they really want instead of me caving and giving them everything they want. They are allowed one warning a week for misbehaving and beyond that they loose there allowance and all of it goes into the fun jar and they are grounded. We have great kids already and this just takes them to a whole new level of learning.
I am so happy my wonderful honey is back home! He takes my breath away and makes me laugh all the time. I swear he is a big kid himself! One thing I do know is he is always busy doing who knows what and cant sit still. LOL I guess that is the demon I have to deal with until his anxiety wears down a little from being reved up on adrenalin all the time over there. He bought me and him a new 4×4 Ford Explorer. It is Silver with dark Grey and Black interior. We love it! He deserves it! This is actually the first new car he has owned and I am so glad that God worked out all the small details for us where we could get it on our own with no help from my dad. God is good! We have been thru the ringer and back with our ex’s screwing up our credit and now he and I are debt free and owe no creditors anything. Except the new truck now! haha…. We always run for the keys when we leave to go do something to see who gets to drive it. We are a tad retarded I guess you could say. The kids think we are nuts chasing each other around in circles picking on each other. I guess I would think that too if I were them.
My grandmother (Dad’s mom) is still in the Trauma Unit at LRMC. She has been in there for almost 2 weeks. She was T-Boned coming out of the hospital in Bartow, FL and she had to be life-flight’ed to the hospital in Lakeland. She is a living miracle right now. She has a broken pelvis, broken, hip, broken shoulder, bleeding from 2 places in her brain, bruised from head to toe, a blood clot in her right leg and had surgery to put screens in her main arteries to break up the blood clotting. She has a long road of recovery, but we are so thankfull God didnt take her from us just yet. This is a time that her kids are coming together and I pray that the lost ones will be affected from this accident and find there way back to Christ.
My grandfather (Mom’s Dad) is doing much better. They drilled holes in his skull a few weeks aga to release the bleeding on his brain and inserted tubes. He is at a Rehab in Lakeland. This is due to a fall he sustained back a Christmas time that was never caught. He has lost most of his motor skills on one side of his body. He is due home this week with a therapist coming in to help my grandmother with him and installing a handicap entrance into there house.
The past month has been difficult being up here and not being with my family. All I can do is pray. I miss them so much and would do anything to go home and be with them, but my place is here with my family . I’m done blogging for now I have my Pilates class soon.
