I’ve Been Tagged!!!

~ 4 Jobs I have had ~

1.  Sams Club - I worked as a cashier / Jewelry Girl / Telemarketing.  This job was a blast!  I met so many different kinds of people.  I was propsed to as well by many Circle K and Seven Eleven Owners.  I also learned how to play quarters and do shots with all the young hip people I worked with.  One of the VP’s from Budweiser asked me on several differnet occasions to come and be one of the Bus Weiser Gilrs and it paid really well and I could travel the world………  I was always flattered and my response was I love my daddy to much to sell out to that life style.  The owner of Hooters asked me to come work for him (to this day I dont know why I was a B cup back then)!  I gave him a piece of my mind!

2.  Breed Technologies - I was a Engineering Secretary for about 80  electrical engineers and one crazy chemical scientist.  This job above all jobs I have worked was my FAVORITE!  I loved working with men only cause they dont ever judge you and if you look like crap or have a bad hair day they compliment anyways.  This was the job that I went thru a divorce and the birth of Emily alone and they all treated my like their baby sister and took care of me and gave me the biggest baby shower ever.  I still keep in touch with some of the folks to this day.  This is also where I met one of my dearest friends Alex , she now lives in California.  She worked in a different building than me.  But she always popped my to hide in my cubicle and have coffee with me.  I got lots of college course schooling from these guys.  They were top notch and knew how to treat a lady. Oh, one of the engineers on our lunch hour became my personal trainer at the gym and showed me how to get the weight off quick from Emily.  He was a big ole bear with 2 beautiful boys.

3.  Bartow Memorial Hospital - I was an Administrative Assistant to the CEO, CNO, & CFO.  This job was fun as well.  I met lots of high falootin big wigs in the Bartow Community.  I also got to meet Leslie Ugums (A tisket a tasket I lost my yellow basket)  Yeah she moved all over the stage but her boobs never did!  I was in many parades in Bartow throwing candy.  I did all the State Filings to get tha new Hsp moved to the new location.  I could do that crap in my sleep.  Man the Helipad was a nightmare.  Open house, VP Open House, Staff Open House, then there was the Community Open House that was like a freaking ZOO!

4.  Cardinal Distribution - Sales Analyst for a Pharmaceutical Company.  I traveled alot and got more schooling out of this company.  Met lots of Materialistic people.  Hated the job and dont think to highly of the people I worked with either.  I have never seen more back stabbing in all my life and the politics were worse than what you see on the news.  There were only just a handfull of people that afected my life from that job.  The only good thing was they paid me great!

5.  Bartow Chamber of Commerce - Office Manager and Membership Coordinator.  I loved this job and ended back up working with a great guy that is near and dear to my heart that I worked with from Bartow Hospital.  We had a great working relationship.  There were only 4 of us in the office so when it was time for me to leave and move with Kris it was tough.  I have so many wonderful community functions and memories of the folks.  They left major imprints on my heart for life.  I miss Jeff as much as I miss Kris.  My boss was one of my very best friends.

~ 4 Movies I coul watch over and over ~

1.  Fast and the Furious 1 (Vin Diesel Rocks and I would love to meet him) 2.  Tripple X XX (again I love Vin Diesel and Kris thinks its funny) 3.  Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood 4.  Diary of a Mad Black Woman (Tyler Perry is the best Christian actor I have ever seen)

Holidays are over & the New Year is here….

We visited our family and friends over the holidays in Florida and it was great!  The kids and I were really blessed this year.  So many people love us and we feel it more now than ever before with Kris being gone.  This was a bitter sweet Christmas with Kris gone, seeing my grandparents getting older, seeing burned bridges on the mend, and how quickly time does fly.  One thing I have learned the most over the past year:  I walk by faith and not by sight ~ That no weapon formed against my family will prosper ~ That perfect love does cast out all fear ~ Not to take the small things in life for granted, a simple smile, a hug, an I love you, holding hands, talking on the phone, I love you’s written on the fridge, the toilet seat, in the sugar jar by the coffee pot, or to hear my cell phone beep during the day with Kris texting an I love you and cant wait to see you this afternoon………  Life is short!  Love everyone in your life like there is no tomorrow and give God your very best everyday.  Thank the Lord I am glad the holidays are over!  It has been a marking point kinda like a mountian till Kris gets home!  We are now on the 7-9 week stretch bringing the 4 platoons home here at Headqarters.  Kris falls in the 3rd platoon.  We are all very excited and keep marking off the days on our calendar!!!!!! What a Happy New Year this year truly is!

The Final Inspection

The Marine stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

“Step forward now, Marine,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?”

The Marine squared his shoulders and said,
“No, Lord, I guess I ain’t.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can’t always be a saint.

I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn’t mine to keep…
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I’ve wept unmanly tears.

I know I don’t deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
It needn’t be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Marine waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

“Step forward now, you Marine,
You’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
You’ve done your time in Hell.”
